Casters, also known as universal wheels, have a structure that allows for 360 degree horizontal rotation under dynamic or static loads. This type of wheel is usually used in conjunction with fixed casters, which do not have a rotating structure and cannot rotate horizontally but can only rotate vertically. There are various materials for casters, including PP casters, PVC casters, PU casters, cast iron casters, nylon casters, TPR casters, etc. According to their load-bearing capacity, they can also be divided into micro casters, light casters, medium casters, heavy casters, and ultra heavy casters.
Working principle:
The working principle of casters is based on the interaction between their structure and constituent components. Casters are mainly composed of three parts: brackets, connectors, and single wheels. According to whether they have a rotating structure, casters can be divided into movable casters and fixed casters. Active casters, also known as universal wheels, allow for 360 degree rotation in their structure, allowing objects to travel freely in any direction. In contrast, fixed casters do not have a rotating structure, so they cannot rotate and can only move in a straight line.
Purpose:
The use of casters is very extensive, covering multiple fields from daily life to industrial applications. In daily life, the application of casters is ubiquitous. For example, after installing casters on furniture and storage cabinets, they can be easily moved and adjusted in position. Even in office environments, casters improve the flexibility of office furniture, allowing office chairs to move freely, and filing cabinets and storage boxes to be adjusted in position at any time. In the field of healthcare, hospital beds and nurse carts are equipped with casters for easy movement of patients and transportation of items. In the industrial and commercial fields, heavy-duty casters are used for tool carts and shelves, allowing workers to easily push heavy tools and materials. Equipping shelves with casters in warehouses also makes storage and retrieval more convenient.
