The working principle of a flat pad is mainly reflected in the following aspects:
Increase contact area: The flat pad disperses pressure by increasing the contact area between the screw and the machine, preventing softer components from being crushed. By increasing the contact area and dispersing pressure, it protects the softer components from damage
Prevent damage: When using flat pads, the order of "one spring pad, one flat pad" must be followed, that is, the flat pad is adjacent to the machine surface, and the spring pad is between the flat pad and the nut. This can eliminate the damage caused by the spring pad to the machine surface when removing screws, and protect the machine surface from damage
Auxiliary disassembly: In some cases, such as when bolts often need to be disassembled, using flat pads can simplify the disassembly process and make it more convenient. This is because the design of the flat pad helps reduce friction and resistance during disassembly, making the disassembly process smoother
Reduce compressive stress: When the bolt strength is high and the compressive stress of the connected part is relatively low, using a flat washer can reduce the compressive stress on the pressure bearing surface of the connected part. This design helps to balance pressure distribution and avoid component damage caused by excessive local pressure
Purpose:
Flat pad is an inelastic gasket that can withstand high pressure. Its main function is to increase the contact area between bolts and connectors, disperse pressure, and protect the machine from damage. In addition, flat pads can also be used to compensate for uneven or non perpendicular connection surfaces. Flat pads are commonly used in situations where the load is small and does not withstand vibration loads, such as machine tools, light industrial machinery, ordinary household appliances, toys, etc.
